Ex Gov Kabogo meets DP Ruto secretly, Uhuru in Panic

-

Former Kiambu Governor William Gitau Kabogo and ex-Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth are seen as the apparent heirs of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the Mt Kenya region.

While Kenneth has clearly demonstrated that he totally supports President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kabogo had remained silent until last Saturday, when he turned up for a meeting officiated by the President at the Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County.

Explaining why he attended the Sagana meeting, the former county chief said he wanted to listen to the Head of State and decide whether or not to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

“I’m listening to all the leaders. If what President Kenyatta told us at Sagana is what he means, then I’m boarding the BBI train,” he said during a interview on Inooro TV.

He also disclosed that Deputy President William Ruto secretly met him at his home a few days ago.

“The DP was in my home over the weekend,” he said.

Asked why the second in command paid him a secret visit, the politician gave only scanty details.

“The DP is my friend. There is something he was proposing to me, but for now, let’s leave it at that because I need time to think about it,” he said.

However, he did not fail to mention that someone (believed to be Ruto) shortchanged him in the 2017 Kiambu Jubilee gubernatorial race, when he lost the party nomination to Ferdinand Waititu.

“He knows what he did to me in 2017. The Kiambu people got into trouble because someone chose a leader for them,” he said.

At the same time, he called out the President, his deputy and ODM leader Raila Odinga for causing tension ahead of the 2022 General Election

The former Juja MP said he was ready to bring the three leaders to the negotiating table and have them discuss how to unite the country.

“If the three are not sanctioned now, this country will burn. And if they can’t preach peach, let’s send them home in 2022.”
