Exposed: How DP Ruto hates Luo and Luhyia people, here is the evidence

By Gordon Opiyo

As usual, I never post anything without proof… And I have repeatedly stated that Ruto passionately hates the Luo and Luhyias O names…
Let me prove, with facts… Solid facts

1. Open discrimination in visits…. Based on newspaper reports, I have compiled the areas that Ruto has visited as DP since 2013
He has visited Kisii and Kuria areas 84 times…. He has visited Siaya 2 times, Kisumu 5 times (mainly visiting his Kalasinga Sugar Barons) Migori 4 times and Homa Bay 2 times…

Compared to Luhyia land, Coast and Central this is open discrimination….

2.As we speak, Ruto has received the Economic Plans from the Mt Kenya, Coast, North Rift, Western, and Kisii regions… He has not hidden his contempt for the Luo by refusing to visit Luo Nyanza to receive the Economic plan…

3. Ruai Land…. When he assumed power in 2013, he went to reclaim his grabbed land that was grabbed after Moi left power. The land initially grabbed by Renton in Ruai had both Luo and Mt Kenya settlements… But he only kicked out the Luo settlers in Ruai and never touched the Mt Kenya settlers who grabbed his grabbed land.

4. Public Service When he assumed power in 2013, he intentionally kicked out senior officials with O names. Several Luhyias with O names suffered after being mistaken for Luos. I have a long list across the Board that suffered from the ethnically motivated purge by Ruto..

5. Public Comments… By Ruto and his close Allies like Sudi, Aaron Cheruiyot, Cherugai and others show open disdain for the Luos…..
I can go on and on….

This attitude is fueled by the Moi and Kanu Era, where Luos were classified as “Adui” and Ruto is a classic Moi student….. Wacha Uhuru… Ruto ndiye Moi damu inside out……..

I know this does not change his popularity in any way, but let the Luo and Luhyia Nation just know that under Ruto, it will be kulia na kusaga meno….

How Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa can be remembered after his term ends in 9 years time

How Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa can be remembered after his term ends in 9 years time

By Empraim Njega
I saw a post where there was hot debate about the Safaricom CEO. The question was on how he will be remembered when his tenure ends ten years later on. There were fears that his presence is yet to be felt.

While Safaricom might seem a mature company, I think it is still has a long way to go to fully achieve its potential.
Many say the first Kenyan CEO should seek to be remembered through charitable works. Perish the thought!
Safaricom can transform the Kenyan economy by ensuring there is fast and affordable internet for all. Empowering the people is better than offering handouts.

Safaricom internet is fast but it is the most expensive to the extent it feels oppressive. I guess the reason Safaricom can’t lower its prices is because of low capacity. If they lower prices the rise in internet usage could overwhelm the network.

How can this be for a company that spends over KShs 30 billion annually on the network? The new CEO should increase the network’s capacity and lower prices. The future of the company depends on this unless it wants to be an MPesa only network.

HEARTACHE: Does pride and ego play a role on how you respond to those who you have hurt?

I have been thinking how problematic the concept of forgiveness is. It is simply ridiculous. And I have been coming to terms why it is always a big ask.

I understand the Christian notion and the philosophical justification, but it is a dicey subject.
See, there are two types of wrongs done to us: intentional and unintentional.

Unintentional wrongs may be hurtful words said in a moment of insanity. Or physical violence that is unprovoked or because of a misunderstanding. The sorry said by the offender once they come to their senses sometimes can be genuine and this we often forgive and even forget.

But the worst wrongs are those done to us intentionally. When someone, say, your spouse insults you repeatedly. When someone says things no decent human being should say. Or physical or emotional abuse that is deliberate and inexcusable.
Abuse is about balance of power. It is always the strong(financially, physically, cognitively, and other ways, where scales of measurement tilt the other way) who are abusing the weak.

The weak are expected to forgive the strong.
E.g an abusive partner is the one who wields some momentary power over the other.
Here is my problem with forgiveness.
It is a one-sided thing. The one who abuses you rarely cares about your apology. Your apology is always a show of weakness and a justification why they abused you in the first place.

For one to abuse you I have noticed, they must hold a lot of contempt for you. They must despise you so bad that they can’t acknowledge your humanity. Whatever weakness you have(sometimes virtues) are contemptible to their face.

That is why abusers are rarely remorseful. I have met men who abuse their women and they are rarely contrite. When I talk to women who abuse their men, they rarely acknowledge that they were on the wrong. They focus more on why it was justified for them to abuse their men.
It is always like that. Europeans people abused us for so long, enslaved us, colonised us, looted our land. Then, ‘we had no choice but forgive them’.Nearly all our founding fathers of Africa rhetoric was full of forgiveness nonsense. And sensing the pointlessness of forgiveness, they added, “we will forgive, but we will not forget.” The colonisers felt nothing. Kapisa. If they would do it again, they would.

How do you handle forgiveness?
Like in the bible?

Like an African?
Or you treat each case individually.
As a Christian who wants to do better every day, I think a lot about the way forward.
Often, I don’t pay much attention to those who wrong me. I relegate them to a part of memory or erase them and try to cram a Fally Ipupa song. But some hurts are sticky like Super Glue.

There are some that my heart is too heavy to let go. Even more pissed off, is that those who wronged me wouldn’t give two Chimpanzee’s ass about my forgiveness.

And that is why forgiveness is tricky.
There are those who think whatever they are doing is not wrong. That whatever words they said, whatever abuse they sent your way, whatever insults, physical, emotional, to them you deserved it even when you didn’t invite it.

To them, they have no sense of remorse. No biological capacity to understand their actions in a way may have hurt you.
If they have to say sorry, they don’t mean it. They rarely say sorry. Because their pride is important than your feelings.
That is why I never knew expect sorry from those who hurt me. I distance myself from them to protect myself. I don’t expect them to be care much about my forgiveness.

My not forgiving them is usually me trying to forget about them and focusing on what is ahead. What is important. And trying to know better so that I can stay away from abuse in the future.

What do you do to those who abuse you?
What do you do when you wrong others?

Do you come to your senses when you realise you are on the wrong, or do you look for excuses to justify your behaviour?
Does pride and ego play a role on how you respond to those who you have hurt?
Do you understand the extent of your damage and try to distance yourself from the person you have offended, often for good, to respect their feelings?

Or you just an arse who couldn’t care?
Do you keep scores?
Do you prefer revenge?
I find revenge to be more human.
I totally understand the sweetness of schadenfreude.
How do you go about it?

WHAT NEXT for Cytonn investors? lost fortunes

0

By Ephraim Njega via FB

I have watched a video by KTN titled Sunken Fortunes with respect to Cytonn. In the video, a lady who invested KShs 2.9 million of her late husbands pension is in tears.

She lost her job due to coronavirus pandemic. She got into depression and is on medication. All this because of the inability to liquidate her investment in Cytonn.

Cytonn continues to insist that all they are facing is a liquidity crisis and the investment is safe. If you finance long term assets such as real estate with short term funds it is only a matter of time before you get into a liquidity crisis.

How could experienced financial experts not foresee this? Cytonn insists it is not a Ponzi scheme. However, Cytonn was operating like a Ponzi scheme because their plan it seems was to manage the liquidity risk by continuously raising funds. Such that in the short run the investors could be paid from funds by other investors and not from the sale of real estate.

If indeed Cytonn High Yield Solution product was a genuine private placement they shouldn’t have marketed it to more than 100 people. This is a requirement by CMA regulation for private placements.

Why did they sell the product to 4,000 people? This made it a mass market product which debunks their claims about targeting sophisticated investors.
The conversion option Cytonn is floating is not viable for everyone. Some of the people have urgent financial and cannot wait to sell houses allocated to them to get their money back.

If Cytonn doesn’t handle this issue well it will also affect their other products including their regulated ones. In dealing with financial products good intentions are not enough; professional execution is also important.

What next for the investors? very unfortunate if they lose their hard earned investments
