This follows a statement by Huduma Kenya announcing the commencement of the 7.00 am to 7.00 pm work schedule for its services across 18 different Huduma Centres.

Previously, Huduma Centres operated from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm across the country.

These changes are to cater for Kenyans seeking services past 5.00 pm and is heralded as the first one on public service delivery in Kenya.

Shortly after her confirmation as CS, Jumwa stated that 18 Huduma Centres countrywide would start operating for 12 hours a day within her first 100 days in office.

Among the Huduma Centres affected by the changes include Nairobi GPO, City Square, Makadara, Kibra, Eastleigh, Kiambu and Nakuru.

Kenyans seeking services from Huduma Centres in Eldoret, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Laikipia, Kisii, Kitale, Kericho, Kakamega, Kisumu and Mombasa will also benefit from the extension.

However, the other Huduma Centres across the country will stick to the normal operating hours of 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

“Come get the following services during these hours; issuance of police abstracts, issuance of birth and death certificates,” the statement by Huduma Kenya read.

Other services that Kenyans can access from Huduma Centres across the country include the issuance of certificates of good conduct, KRA certificate and HELB certificate.

The CS had also indicated that Huduma contact centres will operate for 14 hours, starting 7.00 am to 9.00 pm on weekdays.
