KPLC Announces 8-Hr Blackout in 19 Nairobi Estates

  • Kenya Power, which trades under KPLC ticker on Nairobi Stocks Exchange (NSE), announced an 8-hour blackout in 19 Nairobi estates on Sunday, February 12.

    The estates will experience a power outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 am alongside parts of Homa Bay County.

    “The areas that will be affected are due to a planned routine network maintenance,” Kenya Power revealed the reason for the widespread blackout.

    The areas affected in Nairobi include; Dandora Phase 3, 4, and 5, HZ and Company Limited, and adjacent customers.

    Other areas in Dandora that will be affected include; Dandora Phase 1 and 2, Dandora Market, Korogocho, Kamunde Road, and adjacent customers.

    “Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC), part of Umoja, and adjacent customers will also experience outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM,” Kenya Power announced.

    According to Kenya Power, parts of Komarock that will experience the blackout include; Komarock Estate, part of Mowlem, part of Mungetho, and their adjacent customers.

    Other areas in Nairobi that will experience the outage include; Candy Kenya, Spectore, Eagle Plain Estate, St. Bakhita School, Odds and Ends, C and P, Vitafoam and their adjacent customers.

    Kenya Power further announced that Aramo and Riat regions in Homa Bay will experience power outages from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

    The parts in Riat and Aramo that will be affected include; Riat Market, God Nyango Primary School, Kosira Primary School, Nyafare Market, Yadhelo Primary School, Otunga Water Point, Aramo School, and adjacent customers.

    “If not in the aforementioned areas and you have a power outage, contact us through our social media handles for assistance,” Kenya Power announced.
