3 People Charlene Ruto Hangs Out With in Private

  • President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto has had a busy itinerary since her father’s inauguration if her previous political engagements are anything to go by.

From meeting politicians, leaders, and students at several schools to international influencers, Charlene’s thrust into the limelight has left tongues wagging.

During her trips, both local and foreign, she has managed to keep a small circle of friends who accompany her to important meetings to deliberate on various issues.

Judging from her rallies, trips and functions, at least three individuals drawn from different political backgrounds form part of her small circle.

    Njoki wa Mathira

Touted as a promising young leader, Njoki is breaking ground in her political career as her circle entails a who’s who. She has been instrumental in pushing the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) narrative in Mt Kenya, particularly in Mathira sub-county- the political backyard of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

A spot-check by Kenyans.co.ke, placed Njoki at almost all of Charlene’s frenzy of activities. From Ghana, Morocco to local schools, Njoki has accompanied the First daughter across the country.

The duo enjoy a close bond and it was evident in Njoki’s recent graduation ceremony from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) where she was treated to a surprise by Charlene.

“My baby sister did it! She now has the power to read and write. So proud of you for being a good example to our youth; handling both your degree and active role in politics with poise,” Charlene lauded her confidant.

    Michael Sagana

Much like Njoki, Sagana is always shoulder-to-shoulder with the president’s daughter. Sagana threw his political hat in the ring during the August 9 elections – seeking to fly the UDA flag in the Kasarani parliamentary race. The ticket was, however, handed to John Njoroge who narrowly lost to Independent candidate, Ronald Karauri.

Sagana joined the UDA campaign team and was captured in many rallies urging the youth to support the bottom-up movement.

    Victor Ayugi

A former Jubilee Youth League Official, Ayugi has been within the president’s close circles, especially during the political campaigns.

He accompanied Nick Ruto during various fundraisers across the country. He has always been captured on Charlene’s trips across the continent.
