Kenyan parents have not been afraid to pamper their kids with luxuries gifts before and after exams. They go out of their way to flaunt gifts declaring their unwavering love for their sons and daughters.
Kenyans.co.ke looks at how some of the kids were rewarded by their parents in recent years.
Harriet Chacha
She is the daughter of the former director of communications, at Mombasa County, Richard Chacha.
Chacha rewarded his daughter Harriet Chacha with a car after scoring a mean grade of B plain in the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Harriet, who sat her secondary school exams at Mary Hill secondary school in Thika, was bought a Mercedes E 200.
Her father Richard Chacha once worked at NTV as a reporter.
Sherly Mikal
She is the daughter of Luo Benga music singer Dola Kabarry.
Sheryl was gifted the Toyota Prado by her parents in fulfilment of a promise that they would buy her a big machine if she performed well in KCPE exams.
Luckily for the student, she managed 413 marks, well above her 400 marks target.
According to the deal, the Luo musician was supposed to buy his daughter a car, and his wife Connie Kabarry would gift her a new smartphone.
Gift Osinya
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, gifted his adopted son Gift Osinya Ksh 2 million after he attained 399 marks in the 2016 KCPE.
Sonko took up the mantle to raise, and educate Gift together with his brother Satrin who lost their mother in a terror attack at a church in Mombasa, in March 2014.
“Jeremy”
With national exams soon taking place, one candidate by the name of Jeremy took social media on a frenzy when videos of him being escorted in sleek cars emerged online.
The posh vehicle, a range rover, a Toyota land cruiser and a black hammer limousine with tags on their plate numbers stating “Best Wishes Jeremy”, got a lot of reactions with many admiring the gesture by his parents.
