ICT Cabinet Secretary Nominee Eliud Owalo disclosed that he owns Ksh430 million property at his upcountry home in Siaya county.
Owalo and his family occasionally spend their life outside the city at their upcountry home, especially during the festive season.
The former ODM strategist owns a ksh70 million residential house in Asembo town, a 30 minutes drive from Raila Odinga’s principal home in Bondo.
He also has parcels of land estimated at Ksh200 million.
Part of the land is covered with a tree plantation estimated to be over Ksh100 million.
“I have ventured heavily into commercial tree planting, and as of now, I estimate the value at Ksh160 million.
‘The land I have is around 200 acres, and 10 per cent of that is on Eucalyptus urophylla trees,” the CS nominee told Parliament.
Apart from his Ksh430 million property in Siaya, the CS nominee also has multi-million ventures in the city.
President William Ruto’s ally owns a house worth Ksh120 million in Nairobi and has four cars worth Ksh15 million.
He is also currently building a hotel at Ksh80 million. However, he did not disclose the exact location of the property.
Owalo estimated that upon completion, the hotel’s worth would rise to Ksh293 million.
