Young Woman Rants Against The BBI Report [VIDEO]

Two videos surfaced online on Monday, December 2, of a young lady who criticised the BBI report and Kenyans as well.

In one of the videos, she directly addressed President Uhuru Kenyatta and claimed that young people were excluded. 

“While going through and in an attempt to understand the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, two things occurred to me. One, the lip service that this report has paid to matters concerning youth and especially on inclusivity of young people in decision making.

“And two, is the frequent reference to the 2010 Constitution of Kenya and in particular Article 43,” she stated.

The young woman decried that institutions mandated to implement Article 43 of the constitution violated the rights entrenched therein. 

“Every person has the right to the highest attainable standard of health, which includes the right to health care services, including reproductive health care, accessible and adequate housing, and to reasonable standards of sanitation, freedom from hunger, and to have adequate food of acceptable quality, clean and safe water in adequate quantities to social security and education.

“A person shall not be denied emergency medical treatment. The State shall provide appropriate social security to persons who are unable to support themselves and their dependants,” the said section of the constitution reads. 

“Under health, we have the mafia house scandal and the NHIF scandal. Under the adequate and affordable housing, we have the Karen land saga and the Ruaraka land scandal. 

“Under adequate food of acceptable quality, we have the NCPB maize scandal, Galana Kulalu irrigation scheme, the white and the red alerts as shown to us on National TV.

“Under clean and safe water we have the recent Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal and if we were to probe properly, Nairobi Water and Sewerage company wouldn’t be far behind. Under social security, we have the NSSF Hazina House scandal, NYS1 NYS2 and the youth enterprise development fund scandal,” she went on.

Referring to the president’s speech at Kibabii University’s fourth graduation ceremony, she urged the young people to intellectually challenge those in authority.

In the second video, she urged Kenyans to take responsibility for their actions, in this case, the kind of leaders they elected.
