Wiper Officially Withdraws From NASA Coalition

  • Wiper Democratic Party on Monday, July 26 announced its withdrawal from the troubled National Super Alliance (NASA).

    Speaking to the media at the Wiper Party headquarters in Karen, the party leader Kalonzo Musyoka stated that the party made the decision after lengthy deliberations.

    Kalonzo revealed that his party would now be concentrating its efforts on the One Kenya Alliance (OKA). He further stated that Wiper was working in cooperation with Jubilee.

    The former Vice President also welcomed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)  to join Wiper in forming a new formidable alliance that will form the next government. According to him the new coalition will deliver national salvation to Kenyans. join the coalition.

    “We are not killing NASA and killing ODM at the same time,” Kalonzo reiterated.

    A meeting scheduled for tomorrow involving members of parliament from NASA affiliated parties was postponed to Tuesday, August 3. Thereafter, the party will launch nationwide campaigns.

    Despite the exit, Kalonzo indicated that he had received a letter from ODM Leader Raila Odinga where the former premier accepted to share the political parties fund. He faulted Odinga’s allies for misleading him regarding the same.

    Speaking during an interview with Radio Citizen, Raila stated that NASA affiliated parties had the liberty to form coalitions ahead of 2022. He also dismissed claims of bad blood between the parties.

    Wiper, ODM, Amani National Congress and Ford Kenya joined together to form NASA on January 11, 2017 ahead of the general elections. Other parties include ),National Rainbow Coalition, Progressive Party of Kenya, Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU), and the Muungano Party (MP).

    The Wiper boss also welcomed former NASA CEO Norman Magaya who defected to the party.
