What Top KCSE Student Scored During His KCPE Four Years Ago

As the highly-anticipated 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCPE) results were announced, it was Tonny Bumula from Kapsabet High School who emerged the top student in the country.

He emerged the top student with 87.159 points with Kapsabet Boys emerging the second top school in the country.

During an interview with Citizen TV, Tonny revealed that he was elated by his performance in the national examination.

His also revealed that he also performed well in his KCPE examinations that he sat in 2015.

“I did well. I scored 433 marks in KCPE,” signalling his consistency in his academics. He, however, did not disclose which school he studied in. 

When questioned by anchor Waihiga Mwaura if he expected the good results, he stated, “Yes! Because I worked very hard.”

On his career plans, he stated that he had set his sights on Medicine. 

“I was at grandmother’s place when I received the results. I am thankful to my parents, teachers for the support they gave me,” he stated.

In the 2019 KCSE exams, 125,746 candidates scored C+ and above, 627 scored grade A. 

To access their results, candidates will be required to send an SMS message to 20076 with the candidate’s index number followed by the acronym KCSE (in capital letters).
