  • President Uhuru Kenyatta quietly made changes at the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) by replacing the Director General Mohammed Badi’s deputy.

When President Kenyatta appointed Badi in January, Enosh Momanyi was named NMS Deputy Director General.

However, a spot check by kenyagist.com revealed that Momanyi has been replaced by Kang’ethe Thuku, who has recently been spotted inspecting projects alongside Badi.

An insider told kenyagist.com that Momanyi had been recalled to the Ministry of Lands.

He was seconded to NMS in January by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua from the Department of Physical Planning where he is a Principal Secretary.

Before Thuku’s appointment as NMS DDG, he was the Interior Principal Secretary in the office of the President.

Moffat Kangi was appointed as the new Interior Principal Secretary in the office of the President.

On October 31, he was spotted inspecting the repair and construction of roads in Mukuru Kwa Reuben, Nairobi.

Plans to construct 19 hospitals in various estates in Nairobi are also underway, besides the upgrading of 5 more hospitals to Level 5 status to ensure access to health care.

The implementation of Nairobi’s transport infrastructure upgrade is being spearheaded by NMS Transport Secretary Engineer Michael Ochieng’.

Before being moved to NMS, he worked at the State Department of Transport of Public Works.
