  • The Super Metro Company on Thursday, October 7, announced free rides for its customers.

In a statement, the management noted that the rides will be offered starting 4pm from Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) to the outskirts of Juja and Kikuyu.

The company asked commuters to expect more of such free rides on different routes, and especially during the rush hours.

“Thank you for your unconditional support. We are more than grateful for having the opportunity to serve you our loyal clients each day. We value you all,” reads an excerpt of the company’s statement.

The free rides are in line with the Customer Service Week that started on Monday, October 4 and runs through Friday, October 8. During the week, companies appreciate their customers in different ways.

The company currently plies the Kikuyu Route 105, Thika Road, Juja 236 to Makongeni 237 and the newly launched Ngong to Nairobi CBD Route 111.

Commuters who use Super Metro have previously commended the Sacco for being affordable as well as organised.

“A fact about Super Metro. They are by a mile among the best-managed SACCOs in Nairobi and in Kenya. They are orderly and that order is what has attracted many to prefer them over competition,” a commuter stated.

“They are among the best-managed saccos in Nairobi. Always well maintained mechanically. They are orderly and they are clean,” Road Alerts opined.

In February 2021, the sacco faced resistance from a number of operators plying Ngong Road after it announced its entry into the route.

Some matatus withdrew their services in protest on Wednesday, February 10, leaving commuters stranded.

They argued that there were limited passengers especially due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
