  • Former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary general, Wilson Sossion, wooed President William Ruto to offer him a job after missing several appointments.

The former nominated member of parliament exuded confidence in his ability to deliver and secure Ruto’s agenda if allowed to serve Kenyans.

“I promise, given any position I will deliver like nobody’s business,” Sossion remarked while hosted on a morning show on K24 TV on Tuesday, November 22.

“If the appointment will come, let it come quickly as possible and I will take it up and execute,” he remarked.

Earlier, on November 17, Sossion exclusively told Kenyans.co.ke that he was unaware of any plan to succeed Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO Nancy Macharia, as alleged.

In the K24 TV morning show, he also addressed the rumours arguing that the vacancies he was linked to were fake and created by social media users.

Sossion further commented on the review of the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC). A task force created to analyse the curriculum and its efficiency is expected to furnish Ruto with a report.

“I am impressed by the president’s working party for proposing to domicile Grade Seven pupils at existing primary schools as it would have been practically impossible to transition to the available secondary schools,” he noted.

He argued that the clamour behind calls for Grade 7 to be domiciled at secondary schools was politically instigated.

“CBC rollout was riddled with politics and business and that is why there was plan to have Grade Seven pupils transitioning to private schools which could afford the required infrastructure,” Sossion revealed.

Dr Pamela Odhiambo, former Migori Woman Representative, cast fear that CBC, if not properly implemented, would be used used as a tool for social stratification.

“There should be equality in rolling out CBC, all schools across the country should have access to same learning materials and equipment,” she advised while speaking on the K24 TV show.

The duo’s remarks came hours after the task force denied publicising its findings and recommendations.
