  • Citizen TV Launched a new state-of-the-art studio in preparation to provide an interrupted August 9 General Election coverage.

The new studio had been under construction for months before Royal Media Services (RMS) unveiled it on Sunday, August 7.

Citizen TV‘s new studio features some of the finest ultra-modern screens. It has a giant curved catwalk that will help the presenters navigate viewers through every element in the polls.

The ultra-modern screens have interactive features allowing presenters to break down news items, improving viewers’ experience.

Besides the ultra-modern screens, the studio is fitted with cutting-edge technology, including installed robotic cameras and tracks on the flow, allowing presenters to move freely.

The studio will also incorporate a data tallying centre as the station has deployed representatives in over 40,000 polling stations around the country.Ā

According to RMS Managing Director Wachira Waruru, the new studio forms part of their modernisation and revamping strategy ahead of the polls.

“We are hours now to a most consequential election, and Kenyans are looking up to the RMS to once again be their media platform of choice for all elections updates. I stand proud to say that we are up to the challenge both from a hardware and software standpoint.

“Our new state-of-the-art studios, far superior to any that you may have seen before in Kenya, shows once again our commitment to provide only the best to our audiences. Paired with the best journalistic minds in the country, we pledge to provide world-class coverage like never before. Join us as we keep Kenya, and the world updated during this election,”Ā Waruru explained.

NTV also unveiled their new studio to help the media house in election coverage. Their new studio has modern screens and cameras to provide election coverage.

KTN News embraced the same strategy by launching its new studio and a station at Bomas of Kenya to give live updates on the Presidential election results.

The launching of new studios comes even as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced a partnership with the media to update Kenyans on election results starting on Tuesday, August 9.
