Nandi Governor Stephen Sang was among the first politicians to trace a top performer in his county where he hosted him in his office.
Abiud Kipkurui from Lessos Hills primary school in Lessos Ward scored 430 marks emerging 7th nationally.
“Listening to his touching story, Abiud’s parents are among the Serengonik Forest Evictees who now live by the road in the area.
“Based on the family’s humble background, I have taken up the responsibility to fully support Abiud through his Secondary Education. This will ensure that our great ambitious student achieves his dream of being a neurosurgeon,” he stated.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino also announced that the top 10 girls and boys will have one-year free access to an online learning platform he runs with media personality Jalang’o
“We will also select a few of the top-performing and needy KCPE 2020 candidates and sponsor their secondary school education,” he added.
Education CS George Magoha announced that all 1,179,182 million candidates will transition to secondary school with the form 1 selection slated to take place on May 28, 2021.
He further revealed that the government Elimu scholarship which was initiated in 2019 will offer 9,000 scholarships to form-one students.
The examinations took place between March 22 and March 24, 2021with 590,450 of the candidates were boys representing (50.07%) while 588,742 were girls representing (49.93%).
Magoha revealed that the third term of the academic year would commence on May 10 for all classes except Grade IV and Form 1.
Various institutions usually open applications for scholarships for form one students. The most popular ones being Equity’s Wings to Find, Co-operative Bank Foundation scholarships as well as KCB Bank.
