Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja on March 28, warmed the heart of Kenyans after releasing a Covid-19 public service announcement with his two sons.
In the viral video released online, the youthful Senator can be seen with his two sons creatively creating awareness about ways one can keep safe and avoid contracting the deadly virus.
“Try and keep social distance, starts off the lyrics to the rap. Wash your hands with soap and water goes. Check your temperature if it getting hotter. Look at the time and get home by 7 pm”, the trio raps.

The public awareness campaign song focuses on highlighting behaviour change among Kenyans. This behaviour change is what the Government has been emphasizing to citizens ever since the first case of Covid-19 was confirmed in the country on March 13.
Personal hygiene is the first with individuals being urged to wash their hands frequently and monitor a change in symptoms. The second being monitoring yourself for a presence of symptoms such as coughing, a cold or a rise in body temperature. Kenyans have been urged to practise social distancing by staying at home so that the spread of this virus is minimized.
The country has confirmed 38 cases as of March 28 and the government has imposed a series of measures, the latest being the dusk to dawn curfew aimed at encouraging Kenyans to stay indoors. All stakeholders are focusing on creating awareness on how citizens can avoid contracting the disease and also contain its spread by observing guidelines such as social distancing and hygiene.
With many Kenyans wondering what to do at home the Nairobi Senator has led by example and demonstrated that staying home does not mean you should be dying of boredom at home.
