Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege on Saturday, October 5, penned a touching message to her late mother, Susan Wairimu.
Taking to her social media pages, the legislator wrote that she missed the sound of her mother’s voice, her wisdom and being in her presence.
“You are the pillar of our strength, inspiration and hope. You were a great wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and a friend,” she posted on her Facebook page.
Further, Ms Chege noted that it had been two years since her mother died.
“You physically departed from this world but your spirit lives on and continues to be cherished in our hearts,” she stated.
The MP’s mother succumbed to injuries following a fatal road accident at Githumu Kangari Road in October 2017.
Murang’a County Commander, Naomi Ichami, stated that the 68-year-old was with her husband Chege Mutema, when the crash happened.
“The MP’s parents were driving a Nissan station wagon, while the other vehicle was a Toyota Noah,” she stated.
Meanwhile, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday, October 5, attended the burial of a close friend Daniel Kasirimo ole Muyaa, a former chairman of the defunct OlKejuado County Council.
The president tributed him as a leader who stood for national values; peace and unity.
