Speaking to kenyagist.com, Mukami’s manager Lydia Nyakera noted that the singer was poised to do a good job based on her background in finance.
“Currently, as you know the meeting happened yesterday, a lot is yet to be discussed. Once something is concrete, we will be able to share
“Of course she is going to do it well as you know she is a very smart woman, and she has a background in finance. That meeting will bear good things for the creative,” stated Nyakera.
When asked whether Mukami would consider occupying the advisory position, and represent the creatives, Nyakera declined to comment.
Nadia holds a degree in BBA Finance from Maseno University where she also nurtured her musical career.
Mukami’s role was revealed during Ruto’s meeting with creatives among them Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones.
At the meeting, held at the DP’s residence in Karen, the artists raised issues affecting them and offered to participate in flattening the curve.
Among the requests made was the creation of a special government fund to support the artists during this downtime where the government, and persons of goodwill would support to re-engineer the industry in digital space to facilitate online music concerts and to assist the industry to adapt to the new normal.
“In our meeting, we also discussed the possibility of coming up with a policy that will help weed out bureaucracy, brokers, and impediments that slow the growth of the industry.
“We acknowledge that artists have worked hand in hand with the government and appreciate their proposal to assist in confronting the pandemic. We welcome their offer to reinforce the campaign on the observance of Covid-19 protocols and vaccination drive once it is rolled out fully,” Ruto noted.
