One Dead as 366 More Test Positive For Covid-19

  • Kenya has recorded 366 more Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours as the country’s total caseload rises to 91,892.

    In a press statement on Sunday, December 13, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 4,205 samples had been tested in the last 24 hours.

    Regrettably, one patient succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 1,587.

    Of the positive cases, 236 are male and 130 are female, while the youngest case is a one-year-old child and the oldest is aged 78 years.

    At the same time, 432 patients have recovered with 387 discharged from the home-based care program and 45 from the hospital around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 73,028.

    Currently, there are 967 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 6,583 on Home Based Isolation and Care.

    48 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 28 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 18 on supplemental oxygen. 2 are on observation.

    Another 48 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 39 are in the general wards. Nine are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
