Boga’s appointment as the Chairperson of the Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) was gazetted on Friday, 26 by Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation Sicily Kariuki.
He will serve for a period of three years.
The water agency is a parastatal created under the Water Act, 2016 and established through a Gazette Notice No. 59 of 26th April 2019.
The Board’s main responsibility is the provision of efficient and economical water and sanitation services to the people of the Coast Region.
The CWWDA covers an area of approximately 83,630Km2 which runs across 6 counties namely Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Taita-Taveta, Lamu and Tana River.
In each of the counties, there is a water service provider to oversee the supply of water and sewerage services to the residents.
Boga conceded defeat after the seat was clinched by Independent candidate Bader in December 2020.
“I take this time to congratulate Mheshimiwa Feisal Bader for the victory. I wish him all the best. I want to thank the people who voted for both Feisal and me for the commitment they showed throughout the campaign. There were a few issues here and there but our focus is on the people of Msambweni,” he stated.
He further urged members of the public to shun divisive politics and focus on uplifting their livelihoods as people of Msambweni and Kwale as a whole.
Feisal clinched the Msambweni parliamentary seat after garnering 15,251 votes. Boga was the first runners up with 10,444 votes.
The seat had been left vacant by the unfortunate demise of former MP Suleiman Dori.
