According to an internal memo obtained by kenyagist.com, on Tuesday, April 20, Joseph Warungu was appointed the managing editor of the media house’s broadcast division.
Warungu is a broadcast journalist of international repute, and whose knowledge and experience covering Africa has is quite impressive.
Warungu will be expected to lead NTV’s transformation from a traditional broadcast content provider to a digital operation.
Ugandan journalist Daniel Kalinaki was appointed the Africa Editor to add on to his role as the Editorial General Manager.
In this new role, Daniel will spearhead NMG coverage of Africa and provide much-needed leadership for the groupâ€™s expansion into Africa while maintaining his current responsibilities.
Jackson Mutinda Munyao was appointed The East African’s Managing Editor and will be charged with re-asserting the Nationâ€™s presence in the region by strengthening The East African, exploring new products, building new partnerships and overseeing the integration of the brand into the Nation branded house.
Michael Omondi will be Business Daily’ news editor and his priority assignment will be strengthening content and overseeing the integration of Business Daily into Nation.Africa. brand.

Nation Media Group will be relying on Peter to help take care of the budget, staff welfare, arranging training, among other administrative duties. He retains his position in Taifa and will combine the two roles.
