  • Former Law Society of Kenya(LSK) President Nelson Havi was appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA).

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u appointed the former Westlands parliamentary contestant in a notice dated Friday, February 10.

Havi succeeded Abdirahin Abdi, whose appointment was revoked. The former LSK boss had earlier applied for the Solicitor general job.

The ally of President William Ruto was appointed to the board for a period of three years.

On the other hand, former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma – another of Ruto – was appointed Chairperson of the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority for 3 years.

Cooperative CS Simon Chelugui confirmed his appointment.

Other Ruto allies who landed appointments were former Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi who was appointed to the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board.

Bunyasi was appointed by the Head of State as the chairperson of the board for a period of three years.

Ruto also appointed Dr Samier Muravvej as the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kenyatta National Hospital for a period of three years.

This followed the revocation of Beryl Okumu’s appointment.
