  • Kiharu Member of Parliament Samson Ndindi Nyoro has slammed President Uhuru Kenyatta, describing him as thankless in reference to how he is treatment to his deputy, William Ruto.

While speaking to Murang’a residents on Friday, September 2, the legislator said it’s unfortunate how the president is handling his deputy, who played a vital role in helping him get elected.

“I hear some individuals are not pleased with your hustler journey, they are planning to have you impeached, especially those in the Jubilee party,†Nyoro stated, citing the irony of the President ganging up with Opposition leaders against Ruto.

Nyoro urged the President to focus on serving Kenyans and not to preoccupy himself with blocking his deputy from succeeding him.

He added that the 7,483,895 votes that President Uhuru Kenyatta got were due to his then close relationship with the deputy president.

“If the impeachment goes through, the votes earned from previous elections have to be divided and the share of the deputy president be returned to him,†he said.

The MP asked Uhuru to tone down his anger over the BBI loss and unite the country.

Additionally, Nyoro asked the President to refocus on serving Kenyans, not Opposition politicians.

“The time when we were campaigning, we spoke of only development not Building Bridges Initiative(BBI),†said Nyoro, castigating those who supported the BBI for being selfish.

Nyoro and others took the opportunity to slam the Cabinet Secretary for Interior, Fred Matiangi for disrespecting the deputy president when he appeared in parliament over the downgrade of the DP’s security.

While responding to questions by parliament’s Administration and National Security Committee, the CS exposed properties owned by the deputy president.

This lead to the drawing of mixed reactions from Kenyans.
