Meet Simba – Boy Capturing Hearts on Citizen TV’s Zora Show

  • Ryan Mwenda is the main actor on the much-publicized Zora show on Citizen TV. He plays Simba, the son of the main character Zora (Played by Sarah Hassan).

    He is a stubborn boy but is always ready to protect his mother who is in an abusive marriage.

    The actor is one that the audience has come to love and admire for his confidence and impeccable acting skills.

    At only the age of 13, Mwenda has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, not only by acting on Zora, but also by making appearances on Churchill show.

    In 2016, Mwendwa addressed jubilee supporters during the Jubilee Party manifesto launch in 2016 and rallied them to re-elect the president and his deputy William Ruto.

    His action would earn him a warm embrace from the president, a photo that went viral on social media platforms. In his speech, Mwenda had praised the head of state and assured him that he would be re-elected in the 2017 elections.

    From that moment, Mwenda has rubbed shoulders with other prominent individuals in the Country including Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, Nairobi senator Johnston Sakaja among others.

    The 13-year-old is a student at Riara Springs Academy. During his free time, he loves to play football.

    In 2020, he was featured in a public announcement where he rallied Kenyans to wash hands, wear a mask and practice social distance as a measure to curb the spread of Covid-19.

    He urged Kenyans to open their eyes to the Covid-19 pandemic as a global crisis and not a failure of government, calling on them to adhere to social distancing directives.

    Watoi wenzangu, season ya kuride bike si saahii. Rieng ni kusoma, kumanga na kutulia kwa keja (My fellow kids, this isn’t the time to be riding bikes. It’s time to study, eat and relax indoors),” he stated.

    Zora is a new program that kicked off on March 22, 2021. It stirs two known actresses, Sarah Hassan and Jackie Matubia, who previously acted on Tahidi High as Tanya and Jolene respectively. 

    The show replaced Maria, which had aired on the station for two years. Zora and Maria have both been produced by the same production company, Jiffy Pictures, owned by media personalities Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla.
