Maryanne Kirubi Loses Father in Law

He was the father to lawyer Andrew Musangi and father-in-law to businesswoman Maryanne Kirubi.

This is a second loss to the Musangis following the family patriach billionaire Industrialist Chris Kirubi on June 14, 2021.

Richard Musangi was appointed to the chancellor position by former president Mwai Kibaki. He became the first holder of the office at the University of Kabianga following its charter on March 1, 2013.

He leaves a vast amount of academic experiences like being the pioneer vice-chancellor of Egerton University after leaving University of Nairobi.

Apart from being an academician he was a renowned farmer in Trans Nzoia County. 

ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, was the first person to announce the demise of Maryanne’s father-in-law.

“I condole with the entire Prof Richard Musangi family following his demise. He is remembered as a renowned educationist, scholar and accomplished admin. 

“He was a distinguished Chancellor, University of Kabianga; and Pioneer V.C of Egerton University. May God comfort the family during this time,” Mudavadi stated. 

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula expressed sadness following the demise and comforted the family. 

“He was a doyen of academia, an accomplished administrator and a passionate patriot. Prayers to mama Regina Andrew and the family. I have lost a great advisor,” the Ford Kenya party leader remarked.
