This comes after the Senior Counsel won a defamation case back in 2017 in which the Gatundu South legislator was ordered to compensate her for damages
The court penalised the vocal MP for linking Karua to Deputy President William Ruto’s prosecution at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
At the time of publishing the article, Kuria was unavailable when kenyagist.com tried to reach out to him for a response.
In his ruling, High Court judge Joseph Sergon ordered Kuria to pay the cost of the case noting that the lawmaker’s comments were malicious and meant to injure Karua’s good reputation.
Kuria made the utterances during a prayer rally in Kapsokwony, Bungoma County and claimed that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Party of National Unity (PNU) leaders planned to fix the Deputy President.
The judge stated that there was no truth in Kuria’s claims and that he never bothered to apologise to her after holding a press conference outside Parliament building reiterating the same words.
The auctioneers are set to seize sofa sets, a home theatre, microwave, a coffee table, television stand, two motor vehicles – a Honda and Land Cruiser – refrigerator and a carpet.
Back in December 2019, Kuria announced that he is set to hold a fundraiser to help in raising the Ksh6.5 Million.
“Today, I was instructed by the court to pay child support amounting to Ksh6.5 Million. I will be holding a series of Harambees across the country so that you, my supporters can help me.
“The first Harambee will be held at Kerugoya stadium in the next few weeks. The date will be announced here soon,” Kuria posted.
Kuria, however, failed to hold the fundraisers as announced.
