  • Renowned thespian Sarah Hassan is set to reunite with Jackie Matubia in a new show scheduled to air on Citizen TV.

The show dubbed Zora, is produced by Jiffy Pictures which is owned by Citizen TV anchors Lulu Hassan and her husband Rashid Abdalla.

The reunion comes just after a national debate about the whereabouts of former Tahidi actors who have been away from the limelight.

Kenyan actress Sarah Hassan strikes a pose.

Abel Mutua who also starred in the high school drama recently revealed that besides Joseph Kinuthia, popularly known as Omosh, other actors have also been facing tough times.

“Omosh is one out of very many, and I wonder how we can help them. Every time I see a former colleague’s call I know something is the matter, because it has been tough for them after they left the show,†he confessed.

Sarah Hassan is considered the most successful actor to have come out of Tahidi High. After leaving the show, she moved to the US and enrolled at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.

While in Los Angeles, she wrote, produced, co-directed and acted in a short film, ‘The Company You Keep’ in 2018 that saw her bag 4 Best Actress Awards and 4 Best Short Film Awards.

Taking advantage of the evolution of the film industry that has seen actors seek opportunities outside TV, Sarah starred and produced the digital/television film, Plan B, in 2019 which garnered over a million views on YouTube in its first two weeks of release.

The evolution of technology and the film industry has laid the foundation for video on demand services opening the floodgates of creative and financial freedom for both actors and filmmakers.

She was the lead producer of the feature film 40 Sticks that premiered on Netflix in 2020 and scooped 9 awards at the 2020 Kalasha International Film Awards.

On her part, when Jackie Matubia who also left the high school drama, joined Switch TV as a presenter and left in January 2020 to take up a show on Rembo TV. Apart from media, Jackie is also a digital marketer and owns a cosmetics company.
