  • Leaders gathered at the home of Former Education Cabinet Secretary George Omore Magoha on Saturday, February 11, to pay their last respects. 

    President Uhuru Kenyatta was warmly embraced by the mourners minutes after he was received by ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and his education counterpart, Ezekiel Machogu.

    Other leaders present are the University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Kiama Gitahi and former Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya. 

    As previously ordered by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Police Service officers took charge of the burial activities. 

    The former Cabinet Secretary’s body was transported in a military chopper from Nairobi to Siaya County, where officers and soldiers received it on the ground. 

    11:07: Former CS, Raphael Tuju, and Jubilee secretary general, Jeremiah Kioni greet and also receive Uhuru.  

    11:01: President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta arrives at Magoha’s home. 

    10:50: CSs Ezekiel Machogu (Education), Eliud Owalo (ICT) and Florence Bore (Labour) arrive.
