  • Nakuru business community, on Saturday, February 11, warned the Azimio la Umoja Coalition over the planned anti-government rallies in the city.

Chairman Stephen Muli, noted that they would instead willingly join the President and his deputy in thanksgiving prayers.

“We don’t want demonstrations in Nakuru, and we are ready for you,” Muli warned the coalition led by former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.

He further alleged that the rallies would be a recipe for chaos and lawlessness, which the traders were not ready to entertain.

“We don’t need demonstrations here because we will not eat demonstrations at the end of the day,” Muli added.

Additionally, the vice chairperson of the community reiterated that they would not allow businesses to be disrupted.

According to the traders, the residents are moving on with their lives, putting the campaigns and the 2022 elections behind them.

At the same time, they called on politicians who lost in the 2022 General Elections to support President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government in delivering its promises.

Earlier, the embattled Jubilee secretary general, Jeremiah Kioni, visited Nakuru and Nyandarua counties to prepare for the upcoming Azimio anti-Ruto rallies.

Kioni held pre-planning meetings with the party’s leadership and grassroots delegates in the two counties.

Azimio already held four rallies, three in Nairobi and one in Mavoko, Machakos County, on Friday, February 10.

The opposition sustained a spirited castigation of the Ruto government, accusing it of failing to deliver on its election promises.

In the Mavoko rally, former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, reiterated that the party does not and will not recognize William Ruto as the President of Kenya.
