The late Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei’s widow, Judy Yegon, was on Saturday, March 7, overwhelmed with emotions while paying her tribute to her slain husband.
Speaking during the funeral in Nakuru County, Judy eulogised Kenei as a “handsome warrior who had a deep sense of fashion and humour”.
She struggled to read the eulogy amidst sobs, with several women standing by her side for support during her most trying time.

“You gave new meaning to love. As the angels lead you to paradise, I will miss you my love, my warrior, and everything about you.
“Rest well my love. Please watch over us from the other side. I love you. I promise to take care of our babies,” she stated amid sobs.
The burial was attended by other high profile leaders including Deputy President William Ruto, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika.
Kenei’s father, John Chesang, eulogised his son as a man who helped members of the society diligently, urging other members of the public to follow his footsteps.
“I have faith that God will provide a person who has a heart similar to that of my son Kenei.
“If you were involved in the murder in one way or the other, Kenei’s blood will haunt you,” he stated.
Labour CS Simon Chelugui, who is a cousin to the deceased also castigated the murder when he went to view the deceased’s body on Friday.
“In our family we have no past history of suicides and not a single family member has ever committed suicide and the late Kenei cannot be the first one. It is time we end the unnecessary drama and detectives get important phone numbers of suspects who were communicating with Kenei before he was killed,” Chelugui stated on Friday, March 6, at Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru.
The DCI has concluded that Kenei was murdered ruling out suicide explaining that the ‘suicide’ note which was found next to his body did not bare his handwriting.
