The criteria used for placement of KCPE 2021 candidates to various secondary schools is based on a student’s performance and the background of the primary school they attended.

Form one selection is categorized into national schools, extra-county schools and county schools.

To check the secondary schools that a candidate has been selected to join in 2021, one is required to send SMS of their index number to 22263 which is charged Ksh25 (Safaricom, Airtel and Telcom).

The ongoing selection process begins with national schools, proceeding to the other categories, after which admission letters are available a week later.

Form one admission letters can be downloaded from the official ministry of education website. Upon filling, one is expected to take the admission letter to the school headteacher to stamp it for endorsement.

Qualified candidates should receive letters from the schools they have been admitted into, of which they are expected to present the stamped admission letter, an original birth certificate and its copy.
