  • Citizen TV show host Kambua Mathu has responded to questions about her second pregnancy, a year and three months after she gave birth to a baby boy.

On Friday, December 18, the Rauka presenter and gospel musician disclosed that a number of women had reached out to her, wondering how quickly she had conceived soon after the birth of her first born.

She argued that she understood their concerns as most of them were also struggling to accept their own reality of being pregnant again in a short span of time.

“Allow me to say this for starters: When you’ve had to wait in line for even half as long as I did, trust me, your perspective on many things changes. Not to say that I haven’t experienced my own level of anxiety, I have. But can you imagine what it feels like to literally see God change the script of your life?

“My babies are nothing short of miracles. Only God could do that. So I thank him every day for honouring me this way. It’s for the same reason that I truly don’t care if I get a boy, a girl, twins, triplets…all those (concerns) are superficial to me. My desire was to have children. Period. Healthy, children,” she posted on her social media pages.

The Neema hitmaker added that she was once again praying for those who were struggling to conceive.

In an interview with Parents Magazine in March 2020, Kambua stated that she was subject to online trolls due to the fact that she was childless in the first six years of her marriage.

She added that she was under pressure to get children immediately after her wedding.

Having suffered from the constant trolling, Kambua also secluded herself from most of her friends, mostly because they all had babies, and consequently, all their topics revolved around their little bundles of joy -which was too much for her at the time.

“I changed my prayer for God to bless me in the way that He chose to.

“It’s normal to feel a certain level of disappointment but I’m blessed to have a very strong husband because as much as society blamed me, he carried that burden with me,” Kambua said.
