Gov Kivutha Kibwana: My Phone Was Hacked

During an interview on Spice FM held on Tuesday, December 1, Kibwana said that his phone calls are redirected to another receiver.

“Even when you call me, the phone call was going to somebody else. A lady was answering the phone which I had in my hands,” Kibwana noted.

He noted that he was being targeted for opposing the proposals in the Building Bridges Report constitutional amendments. 

Previously, he had stated that drones had been sent to his official residence. 

“There are drones hovering over my place. We wanted to shoot one of them (down) but we were warned that if we shoot it the owner would come for us,†he said.

The governor further noted that his stance on the BBI report would not shift despite the orchestrated attempts to discourage him.

He further claimed that a section of politicians were using the BBI to further their political agenda in 2022.

The Makueni governor recently moved to the Supreme Court seeking an advisory opinion on how the constitution should be amended.

He sought to know whether a bill containing a proposed amendment should be limited to one issue of the constitution.

Furthermore, he wanted the court to rule on whether the national or county governments or state officers are allowed by law to use public resources to finance constitutional amendments. 

He argued that clarification on these matters would enable members of the public to understand the issues being amended to know whether they would support or oppose the bill.
