The family of a Kenyan woman who was murdered in Seattle, Washington State, is appealing for help from well-wishers.

Janet Oyuga’s family is looking to raise Ksh5 million in order to bring her body to Gem Ogero village, Siaya County, for burial.

According to Janet’s elder sister, Sophie Oyuga, the family hopes to bury their sister before January 11, 2019, as reported by K24 Digital.

“Families and friends in USA are in the process of mobilising for funds to help bring my jovial sister back home,” she stated.

The deceased was allegedly shot dead by an 85-year-old granny, Beverly Jenne, who is said to have been roommates with her and her sister, Angela Oyuga.

“The assailant murdered Janet at her home and hid in wait for the sister, Angela, to get home from her late shift.

“Angela, unaware of what had transpired, was shot on the back as she was walking up the stairs Janet was pronounced dead by law enforcement at the scene,” read a statement sent to media houses on December 24, 2019.

It is reported that the two sisters had bought the house they were living in from Beverly after she lost it to auctioneers.

Beverly reportedly left a note explaining why she had killed the 37-year-old.

“I was sent by people to kill Janet because she was not a good person, she was going to evict me,” read the letter.

In a curious twist, on Monday, December 30, 2019, a huge fire is said to have erupted at the home where the three lived, destroying the property.

A huge fire razed down a house where Janet and her sister Angela were living on Monday, December 30.
