NRG Radio, the organisers of the Buju Banton concert have issued a new date for the event that was slated for Saturday, February 8.

In a statement seen by kenyagist.com, the organisers cited the public viewing of the body of the late President Daniel Moi as the reason for the postponement.

The viewing would be at the parliament buildings on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, posing a logistical challenge to the event that will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

Please be advised that we shall honour all the tickets already purchased, all sponsors and Partners.

Our line-up remains the same and Buju Bunton is fired up to deliver a great show. We are committed to ensuring that we live up to all our fans expectations.

Buju Banton is considered by many as a fan favourite among reggae lovers in the country with numerous timeless hits such as Destiny and Hills and Valleys.

Since his release from prison in 2018, where he served for seven years, Buju has made waves globally and his name a subject of small talk by many.

His recent releases such as Trust and Holy Mountain, which incorporates global superstar DJ Khaled, have gained global traction and annexed a new generation of Buju Banton fans.

In a conversation with kenyagist.com, a highly-placed source at NRG Radio disclosed that the media station had gone all out to ensure revellers would have a time of their lives at the show.

“Everyone attending can rest assured that they’ll be safe and they’ll have the best possible experience at the event. We haven’t left anything to chance.

“We’ve also contracted G4S for security and we’ve put arrangements in place to ensure amenities for revellers are easily accessible,” the source informed.

The Grammy award-winning reggae legend will headline the event that will take place at the KICC.
