The detectives stated that one of the suspects opened fire when he was ordered to surrender forcing officers to respond with fire before he was gunned down.

One suspected carjacker was gunned down while four others fled after police officers busted them in along the stretch.

He was cornered and fatally injured and later died, a pistol with two live rounds was recovered from the suspect.

The victim who is a businessman at Nyamakima was rescued unhurt besides his Samsung phone disappearing with the other four who escaped but are being sought by the DCI.

This comes barely a week after detectives shot dead four individuals who had allegedly kidnapped a Chinese national at a house in Nairobi’s Dagoretti estate.

The kidnappers had locked up the victim and solicited a ransom KSh 100 million to secure his release.

The suspects had sent the victim’s brother ransom messages indicating that any further delay would lead to his death.
