So far 130,498 samples have been tested for Coronavirus. An additional 10 patients succumbed to the disease bringing total fatalities to 117. 106 more patients were discharged with total recoveries now standing at 1,459.
Of the new cases, 198 are Kenyans while 15 are foreigners with 152 being male and 62 females. The youngest is a 1-year-old and the oldest is aged 73.

Out of 136 cases in Nairobi, Dagoretti Nort 26, Westlands 25, Kamukunji 17, Kibra 13, Makadara 11, Starehe 8, Langata 9, Kasarani 6, Embakasi East 4, Embakasi North 3, Ruaraka 3 and Embakasi Central 1.
In Mombasa, Mvita had 20 cases, Likoni and Kisauni 5 cases each, Changamwe had 2.
“In the last few days, our numbers have risen, generating anxiety and panic among Kenyans. The possibility of one getting infected is real as the virus is well entrenched in our community. It is possible to curb the virus if we adhere to stipulated measures.
“It is evident that cases in Westlands, Kibra, Langata and Embakassi in Nairobi are rising. This is a critical issue and residents of these estates should soul search on why the numbers are rising. Something is not right. They have to rectify this lest it spirals out of control,” Aman warned.
The CAS highlighted that Kenyans were assuming the effects of Coronavirus (Covid-19), while also warning truck drivers.
“In the past several weeks’ people have become relaxed in adhering to Covid-19 measures and are living as if life is back to normal. Our border points, Taveta, Busia and Namanga are also alarming. The positive numbers are from truck drivers who pose a serious risk to the spread of the virus. I want to remind truck drivers to test 48 hours before commencing their journeys,” he added.
