  • CS Fred Matiang’i on Thursday warned Kenyans to brave up for looming painful changes in public transport.

The Interior Ministry boss indicated that the government is planning to radically change the public transport sector.

“Some of those changes are going to be painful because they are going to require that we work and live differently from how we are used to,” Matiang’i told the press.

In a bid to keep Kenyans safe, the CS indicated that the government would first require all driving schools in the country to ensure that their licenses are re-validated by July 1, 2019.

“If they do not have the new generation licenses by then, they should, therefore, consider themselves closed,” he asserted.

According to the CS, the NTSA would begin re-validating licenses and physically inspecting the driving schools on May 2, 2019 to ensure they are compliant with teaching standards.

He further noted that the NTSA and police would soon move in to crack whip on illegal schools.

On the other hand, the CS  warned those selling Huduma Namba application forms that they will be apprehended.   ©     All Rights Reserved
