  • Kenya has recorded 392 new Covid-19 cases from 3,668 tests conducted over the past 24 hours. The positivity rate now stands at 10.7%.

    Unfortunately, 8 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, 1 occurred within the last one month and seven are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits. Cumulative fatalities now stand at 2,976.

    In the statement released on Friday, May 14, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that the country’s cumulative numbers had risen to 165,112.

    From the cases, 383 are Kenyans while 9 are foreigners. 237 are male and 155 are female. The youngest is a two-month-old infant while the oldest is 94 years.

    184 individuals recovered from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, 152 from various health facilities countrywide while 32 from home-based and isolation care.

    Total recoveries now stand at 113,432 of whom 82,450 are from Home Based Care and Isolation while 30,982 are from various health facilities.

    1,040 patients are admitted to various health facilities in the country while 4,813 are on home-based isolation and care. 118 are in the intensive care unit 23 of who are on ventilatory support.

    74 patients are on supplemental oxygen, 21 patients are under observation.

    Another 88 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 83 in general wards and five in High Dependency Units (HDU).

    So far, 933,436 individuals have been vaccinated against the virus. 

    Of these 284,411 are aged 58 years and above, Health workers, 162,396, Teachers 146,538, Security Officers 79,906 and others 261,185.
