Detectives stated that the couple jumped from the apartment on Saturday morning, October 2, and a security guard at the flats discovered their bodies.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the apartment security guard heard a loud bang in the backyard followed by a car alarm that went off prompting him to go check what was happening.
When he got to the backyard the security guard saw the body of a man that did not have clothes on, lying on the cold ground.
Before he could gather his thoughts, a female body landed next to his feet almost immediately after. The security guard took off screaming and reported to the nearest police station.
“The guard immediately took flight engulfed in fear, towards the Mtwapa police station. On arrival, the bewildered guard told detectives that there were ‘falling ghosts’ at his place of work,” the DCI stated.
Detectives accompanied the security guard to the apartment where they found two bodies with multiple fractures.
The sleuths established that the woman aged 23 years was a tenant at the apartment building and she had been living with the man.
They further established that the couple were fighting in their house after finding broken items and blood in the house.
“After accessing the house whose door had been latched from inside, detectives established that the two had been fighting prior to committing suicide.”
“The bedroom’s floor was flooded with blood while a glass table in the living room had been shattered,” the DCI reported.
Detectives stated that they were conducting further investigations into the incident.
