Cosmas Mutua, a former Multimedia University, was forced to drop out of campus due to lack of fees.
The MP had initially launched a search for Cosmas who after dropping out of school had opted to work as a watchman in Mombasa.
“If anyone knows the whereabouts of this comrade who dropped from the university to be a watchman because of lack of fees to alert me. I want to help him complete his studies,” he wrote.
The vocal MP went on to explain why he decided to step in and give his former comrade a hand by ensuring that he was able to complete his course at the university.
“Everybody knows my story, everybody knows how I suffered in my childhood growing up. I know what hunger is. I know what lack of school fees means. I know the pain of poverty,” Babu Owino revealed after honouring his pledge.
He went on to reiterate that it was everyone’s responsibility to look out for one another.
“I knew I had a responsibility to help. This is not for me. This is so that our comrade can, in turn, help another when his time comes, that’s why I paid his fees today. Comrades must stand together!” he reiterated.
