  • Former Tahidi high actor Bernard Mwangi known by his character name Mr Mweposi is appealing for help so that he can venture into Onion and Pepper farming.

Speaking on a show on YouTube, the thespian opened up on battling alcoholism and depression. He narrated that the addiction was prompted after his marriage ended a few years ago.

“When my marriage ended, I started engaging in alcoholism and that ended with me getting depressed and having high blood pressure,” he stated.

Additionally, Mweposi narrated that he was on a contract basis with Royal Media Services (RMS) and was not retained, something that escalated his depression.

“I had a family and everyone was so used to seeing me on TV so they automatically thought that I would be absorbed. People thought that I had a lot of money but it wasn’t true.”

The actor also talked about a video of him in a drunken state, that went viral a few years back. He explained that the video helped him turn his life around.

“I was in a bad state at that time when the video went viral. That was my turning point because I reflected on what my children would think of me when they saw me in that state.

“So I came to accept that my life had started taking a wrong direction and I started changing slowly,” he stated, adding that he had been deserted by most of his friends during this time.

His story was highlighted just months after former Tahidi High actor Kamau Kinuthia alias Omosh appealed to Kenyans to help him get a job opportunity or start a business.

Omosh noted that  2020 had been a difficult year for him owing to the Covid-19 pandemic that shook up the entertainment industry.

Kenyans came to his aide and massively supported him with monetary gifts, shopping vouchers, free bed, seats among other items.

The actor, who had also sunk into depression, explained that he had gone for rehabilitation and had turned a new leaf.
