According to a video seen by kenyagist.com, the lawmaker made her way to the studio where a panelist was discussing the proposed changes to the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) that has been described as punitive.
The panelist included Uasin Gishu Woman Rep Gladys Shollei, political analyst Herman Manyora, and Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni and was moderated by show host Debarl Inea.
Manyora was first to note Wahome’s entry into the live studio as the discussion continued, “First of all, I don’t know whether we are safe, Alice Wahome has walked in with gloves.”
A few minutes later, Inea introduces Wahome with a cheeky challenge asking her whether she wanted to put on a fistfight in the studio.
“I wanted her to come we have a bit of a fistfight here,” stated Inea before he offered to set up a lapel microphone on her.
“Alice now is really spoiling for a fight. You want to tell us why you are really spoiling for a fight?” continued the journalist as he set up the device for Wahome.
The other panelists broke off into chitchat until the host reminded them that they were still on air.
She answered in the affirmative though she did not identify her presumed opponents.
Wahome has been at the heart of a row between a DP William Ruto-led faction of the Jubilee Party dubbed Taga Tanga and Kieleweke faction allied to President Uhuru.Â
“I want to tell Kenyans that the biggest existential threat to Kenya’s declining economy, democracy, freedom of speech and political association is Uhuru Kenyatta because he is on the driver’s seat.
“Raila Odinga is his new mercenary for hire and the BBI report is the special purpose vehicle,” she disclosed.
On Friday 10, 2019, Wahome was among a section of Ruto allies that scampered for safety at Kilimani police station when they were teargassed while seeking Moses Kuria’s release.
Kuria had been arrested after being accused of assaulting a woman at Royal Media Services.
During the show, the lawmaker attacked the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) whose countrywide tours were spearheaded by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“At the beginning of the BBI, the thought may have been good but the execution has become completely disastrous because there are people saying they don’t feel included,” she argued.
She also defended DP William Ruto arguing that he was not an appointee of the president and people needed to stop claiming that he was disrespecting Uhuru.
