In a statement released on Wednesday, May 12, Health CAS Rashid Aman announced that the country’s cumulative numbers had risen to 164,386.
From the cases, 393 are Kenyans while 17 are foreigners. 253 are males and 157 are females. The youngest is a five-month-old infant while the oldest is 100 years.
67 individuals recovered from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, 57 from various health facilities countrywide while 10 from home-based and isolation care.
Total recoveries now stand at 113,124 of whom 82, 213 are from Home Based Care and Isolation while 30,911 are from various health facilities.
Unfortunately, 22 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, 18 on diverse dates within the last one month. Cumulative fatalities now stand at 2,950.
149 patients are admitted to various health facilities in the country while 4,823 are on home-based isolation and care. 119 are in the intensive care unit 22 of who are on ventilatory support.
74 are on supplemental oxygen, 23 patients are under observation.
Another 91 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 86 in general wards and five in High Dependency Units (HDU).
The positivee cases in the counties were Nairobi 76, Kericho 51, Meru 40 Kisumu 36, Mombasa 27, Uasin Gishu 25, Kisii 19, Migori 18, Kilifi 8.
So far, 925,509 individuals have been vaccinated against the virus.
Of these 538,734 are aged 58 years and above, Health workers, 161,702, Teachers 145,099, Security Officers 78,081.
