Controversial TV pastor Godfrey Migwi made a hard-hitting attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, accusing them of protecting and cleansing corrupt politicians.
Taking to his social media platforms on Friday, March 6, Migwi argued that the Building Bridges Initiative was being used to cleanse questionable leaders as he listed several politicians, most of them within Odinga’s circle.
“I am a watchman on duty. Hate me or like me, BBI is the cure for the corrupt!” Migwi lambasted.

The Kayole based preacher argued that in February 2018, the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission petitioned Senate Speaker Justin Muturi over the nomination of CSs Peter Munya (Agriculture) and Ukur Yattani (Treasury) alleging that their integrity was questionable.
He further argued that investigations by EACC on alleged procurements malpractice hit a snag since Munya became a “darling” to the system for openly attacking Deputy President William Ruto and defending the BBI.
Next on his list was Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, who Migwi alleged that he had several corruption cases still pending in court and his academic qualifications were still questionable.
“He faced numerous court battles when he was at war with Uhuru but since the handshake and BBI cleansed him, the cases have stopped,” Migwi ranted.
On Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, the vocal pastor claimed that he was criticised when he appeared in public with DP Ruto. However, ever since he switched sides, his cases were delayed. Obado is facing murder charges for the death of Sharon Otieno, a Rongo University student.
“Obado was Ruto’s point man at the time he faced murder charges. By that time, people even mocked Ruto for having a close link with the “killer” of an innocent girl.Â
“Ruto was accused of teaming up with the governor who was by then also facing numerous court cases on corruption. But the governor turned his support to the cleansing hands of BBI. His murder case was slowed down and his corruption cases stopped,” the preacher argued.

He further accused Odinga and Kenyatta of associating with Amos Wako, Busia senator and former attorney general, arguing that he was part of the BBI team despite being incriminated in a corruption case by the United States.
He also alleged that governors Anne Waiguru, Wycliffe Oparanya, Mike Sonko, Charity Ngilu, Mwangi wa Iria and CSs Fred Matiang’i and Cecily Kariuki had a shady past but were never questioned by Odinga and Kenyatta.
“When you get caught up in corruption cases, all you need to do is keep quiet, get some few cars and brand them with BBI colours and strongly support the handshake. The president who is keen on using the BBI to fight corruption will call MCAs to see him at State House and boom, the impeachment will be stopped,” Migwi referenced the president’s plea to Nairobi MCAs to spare Sonko.
On the recent case involving Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, where he is facing attempted murder charges after reportedly shooting an entertainer, DJ Evolve, in a Nairobi club, Migwi criticised that even the Judiciary was corrupt after allowing Babu to roam freely.
“When you support the BBI, you can shoot at however you wish. You can even pay your cash bail at monthly instalments while you are out,” Migwi lamented.
